Meet the Crew
Brian Lamia is a New Orleans native whose career has taken him across the worlds of media production, international business, hospitality, and experiential tourism. He began producing political commercials in Louisiana before moving to New York City, where he built a career in film and television, serving in roles ranging from production coordinator to producer and showrunner. His work included producing travel programming for PBS affiliate WNET, with projects filmed throughout Europe for American audiences.
His professional journey later led him into the international finance sector, where he managed global investment conferences for major banks and financial institutions around the world. After the Wall St. collapse of 2008 he moved to Lyon, France, producing documentaries, music videos, and innovative aerial imaging projects that combined storytelling with emerging drone technology.
After moving to Brazil in 2011, Brian co-founded Flylab Brazil, a company specializing in custom aerial camera systems for film, television, and government projects. After successfully growing and selling the business, he returned to New Orleans in 2015 and entered the hospitality industry, gaining experience at renowned establishments including Commander's Palace, Café Adelaide, and Gris-Gris. His passion for food, wine, and guest experience eventually led him to earn certification as a sommelier.
As travelers increasingly sought authentic outdoor experiences, Brian turned his attention to Louisiana's waterways, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems with kayaking adventures, bayou boat tours, and other immersive experiences, which ultimately inspired him to co-found Beyond the French Quarter, helping visitors discover the broader Louisiana experience through carefully curated tours and activities.
